SCR Cheapest Items Prices Malaysia 2026
The scr cheapest items start at RM1.00 for an extra sauce in the June 2024 Serai Group menu PDF, while the cheapest full food item we could price clearly is kaya toast at RM7.90 and the cheapest chicken rice set is RM14.90. Every figure here is from that 2024 PDF and is indicative, since no current official 2026 SCR price board was found and prices vary by outlet. For the full SCR range, see the SCR menu guide.
What is the cheapest thing at SCR Malaysia?
The cheapest line on the June 2024 SCR menu PDF is not a meal at all. It is an extra sauce: extra ginger paste at RM1.00 and extra chilli paste at RM1.00, both listed as add-ons to a chicken rice plate. After that, the cheapest drink is mineral water at RM5.90, and the cheapest proper food item with a clear price is Hainanese toasted bread with pandan kaya and butter at RM7.90. That ranking is honest about what each line is: a sauce is not a meal, and a drink is not lunch.
A note on older prices: an undated encyclopedia style summary of SCR once listed rice meals from RM5 to RM9 each. That range is historic only and is not used as a current price anywhere in this guide, since it carries no date and clashes with the dated 2024 set prices.
What are the cheapest SCR mains and sets?
For a real meal, the floor is the single chicken rice set. Roast chicken with rice and soup is RM14.90 and steamed chicken with rice and soup is RM14.90 in the June 2024 PDF, and those two are the cheapest sets on that menu. The next step up is honey glazed BBQ chicken at RM15.90, then the Double Chicken Combo at RM20.90, which buys two chicken styles with rice and soup. Ordering a single set and drinking water is the cheapest full lunch shape on this menu.
Cheapest sets ranked by 2024 PDF price
This ranking uses only prices printed clearly in the June 2024 PDF. Anything the PDF layout left unclear is left out of the priced list, not estimated. Sharing sets look cheaper per person, and that maths is shown in the next section, but for a solo diner the single set is the true floor.
| Set or Main | Details | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Roast Chicken Set | Roasted chicken with rice and soup, chilli, ginger and dark soy | RM 14.90 |
| Steamed Chicken Set | Tender poached chicken with rice and soup, chilli, ginger and dark soy | RM 14.90 |
| BBQ Chicken Set | Prime honey BBQ chicken with rice and soup | RM 15.90 |
| Double Chicken Combo | Two chicken styles with rice and soup, choice of steamed, roast or honey glazed BBQ | RM 20.90 |
| Set Meal for One | Single portion set with chicken, sides, rice and iced lemon tea, as laid out in the PDF | RM 24.90 |
Cheapest light meals
If a full set is more than you need, the light end of the menu is cheaper. Kaya toast at RM7.90, half boiled eggs at RM8.90, scrambled eggs with sambal at RM8.90, and fish ball and lettuce soup at RM8.90 are all clear 2024 PDF prices. None of these is a chicken rice set, but each is a genuine small meal, and pairing toast with soup is a filling low cost lunch on dated pricing.
| Light Meal | Details | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Hainanese Toasted Bread with Pandan Kaya and Butter | Breakfast toast, all day section | RM 7.90 |
| Half Boiled Eggs | Breakfast eggs | RM 8.90 |
| Scrambled Eggs and Sambal | Breakfast eggs with sambal | RM 8.90 |
| Fish Ball and Lettuce Soup | Light soup dish | RM 8.90 |
What are the cheapest SCR drinks and add-ons?
Drinks are where a cheap SCR meal stays cheap or quietly grows. Mineral water at RM5.90 is the floor, followed by sugar cane at RM6.60 cold, and hot Tenom Coffee, Milo and lemon tea at RM6.50 to RM6.90. Cold versions cost RM1.00 more than hot for most drinks in the PDF, so ordering hot is a small saving. Add-ons run from RM1.00 for extra sauce to RM5.50 at the top of the PDF range, with a RM5.00 upgrade to honey glazed BBQ chicken.
| Drink or Add-on | Details | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Mineral Water | Cheapest drink on the PDF | RM 5.90 |
| Tenom Coffee (hot) | Hot RM6.50, cold RM7.50 | RM 6.50 |
| Sugar Cane (cold) | Cold only on the PDF | RM 6.60 |
| Milo (hot) and Lemon Tea (hot) | Hot RM6.90 each, cold RM7.90 each | RM 6.90 |
| Teh Tarik (hot) | Hot RM7.60, cold RM8.60 | RM 7.60 |
| Extra Ginger Paste or Chilli Paste | Per extra sauce | RM 1.00 |

| Other add-ons | PDF add-on range, including a RM3.50 curry item | RM 1.00 to RM 5.50 |
All drink and add-on prices are from the June 2024 PDF, inclusive of sales and service tax as printed, and indicative only.
How do you keep an SCR meal cheap?
Four habits keep the bill down on this menu. First, pick a single roast or steamed set at RM14.90 (2024 PDF) rather than the RM24.90 set meal for one, which bundles extras you may not need. Second, drink water at RM5.90 or a hot drink, since cold drinks add RM1.00 on most lines. Third, share the RM65.90 set meal for three (2024 PDF) when three people eat together, which works out to about RM21.97 per person before drinks, cheaper than three separate RM24.90 sets. Fourth, skip paid upgrades on a first visit and spend the RM1.00 on extra chilli or ginger only if you actually want more sauce.
- Solo cheapest lunch: Single set RM14.90 plus mineral water RM5.90, about RM20.80 on 2024 pricing.
- Lightest meal: Kaya toast RM7.90 plus hot Tenom Coffee RM6.50, about RM14.40 on 2024 pricing.
- Group saving: Set meal for three RM65.90, about RM21.97 per person, on 2024 pricing.
- Watch out: Desserts at RM10.50 each and cold drink upgrades add up fast.
